IMPACT Manufacturing Technology
IMPACT, Goodyear’s revolutionary manufacturing technology is 43 percent more precise than the current industry capability, and benefits consumers with:
- Improved ride, handling, and tread wear
- Reduced tire weight, and rolling resistance
- Improved tire appearance
How Tires Are Built
Goodyear tires are made using different kinds of rubber that contribute distinct properties to the tire.
- The rubber is repeatedly fed between massive rollers to achieve the ideal level of tread.
- Another type of rubber coats the fabric that's used to make up the tire's body.
- Tires are inspected by trained technicians and specialized machinery, plus frequently X-rayed to ensure quality.
-

Goodyear has developed hundreds of tread technologies to perform in all types of weather and terrain conditions.

Goodyear has been developing specialized versions of Run-Flat tires because of their many benefits. Our RunOnFlat tires are designed to perform when deflating or even once deflated. They allow you to drive at a top speed of 50 miles per hour for up to 50 miles, to help you reach a safe place or service area. Also, by eliminating the need for a spare tire, RunOnFlats can save weight, space, cost, and resources. 2
